Knight Ryder...I work at VX head office in Luton..here is our official line:

Our policy is that the use of after-market products in itself does not invalidate the vehicle warranty. It is only if a component fails and after investigation, failure was established to be due to the use of the after-market product, that the warranty for that particular component is invalidated.

In such cases, you would be re-directed to the supplier or the manufacturer of the product used, for assistance in the repair or replacement of the affected component(s) and any consequential or related damage.

Hope this helps mate

Vauxhall (TAC claim centre) officially tell us basically that if it is deemed a manufacturing defect warranty applies, however if can be caused by aftermarket fitments that can damage a component, ie big wheels causing stress on hub assy's etc, then warranty might be void on that particluar area, however most dealerships take a very good approach to it, ie benefit of the doubt jobby.
What is important though, and may affect a lot of CS users, any mods to engines on new cars, ie model year 2004 onwards, all warranty on engine is void, no question asked.

As for servicing etc, due to a block exemption rule, servicing at non vauxhall approved is allowed and due to new laws warranty is still valid, but the garage performing the service must meet the latest ISO9000 standards, hence why really its better to go to main dealer.

yeah we do all that, but when we send unit back with water in, by the time it reaches them they all dried out. Im trying to implemant a procedure where we can attach a image with any claim work, so replacement can be justified. have u heard of greenhous?
