coz my passenger side front is almost broken the rubber
needs changing asap really
i have been advised my options are:
1) Get 4 new tyres.
Pro: All new tyres, safest choice
Con: Cost!
2) Get 2 new tyres.
Pro: Cheap if you only need two
Con: Looks shite if you mix brands
3) Get one new Dunlop from Scott
Pro: Cheap for one tyre
Con: You still need one more tyre. If you get another Dunlop, see #2 above. If you get a 3rd brand of tyre, then see #2 above and multiply the Con factor by 100
scott has said if i can give him £40 - like NOW, then i can have it
i dont know whether its worth doing or not

I'd prefer to buy 2 new one for the front. The back dont matter as it only holds the back off the ground. A front blowout will send you into a ditch. Which is cheapest???

get that one and another the same and fit as a pair.
Any tire place will change tyre and dispose of old one for £5 odd

Ian had a bad experience with a Dunlop tyre when he was a child.
The local scally's put him inside a remould and pushed him down a hill
I'd offer £40 for the tyre and see how much another would be.
It might still work out cheaper to just get two new tyres from somewhere else.

I've got Dunlops on the convert at the moment. They're OK. Cheap at the price for 40 quid. The new one for the other side will be about 110 quid. 150 the pair isn't much, they're certainly not a budget plastic thing.
You should apparently put new tyres on the rear so that the more worn tyre is on the front - that way the car will have a tendency to understeer which is safer. New tyres on the front and old ones on the back could make the back tail happy. Thats a result in my book but not everyone shares that view

New tyres should go on the rear because most people can't control loosing the back end
