Unreliable is an understatement.

But then again, 0-60 in bout 7 and a top whack of 140 indicated is nowt to moan about. Look sexy, handle excellent and respond excellently to filter + zaust (just like its little sister, the 106).

My bro's got one, chipped, filter + zaust, and its 190+bhp.

Matt

PS: yes the gear box is poo. Very very long ratios, 6th is just a cruisin gear and the box itself is weak. My brother is on his 3rd in a few months.

Yes Matt, is good spec

I have the choice (i suppose) of a newish (99/00) 206 GTi or I suppose a 97 306 GTi-6 but I cant be doing with forking out for repairs/new gearboxes etc.

I also like the look of Seat Ibiza 20v T Cupra's but they are slightly out of my range

Unfortunately not the nicest colour, but since that was taken, its sittin on 17" chromes, lowered 60mm all round, and of course, 190+bhp. i love it.

Ur damn right. The electric windows, cig lighter + headlights have all given my bro probs

However, touch wood, my 306 has been ok Altho i believe the ph2's did have more probs.

I think the best option wud be to go for the rallye, which was a stripped out GTi-6. Less things to go wrong then!

TVRs are unrelaible, not bloody Pugs. If it has regular problems then its a shitter, same with the gearbox.

You will have no reliability problems with the 306.

Also, deffo go for one over the 206. 206 looks more modern but handles like a Corsa and is very sluggish.

your oh-so wrong mate......we've got friends of the family who own em, and they've all been trouble. It has untold stalling problems, had to have new C/V's and driveshafts and loadsa other bits and bobs.

why would i bother making it up?? I'm not slating 306s, coz not only do i have one, but its never let me down!!!

i know a fella over here who sold his mk2 golf for a 306 GTi6, and says it was the worst decision he has ever made as the electrics in the car are a total fuk up and one thing after another fails weekly
