Well tell him you are going to claim off his insurance if they wont pay out. And that you have witnesses.

You are lucky you got his details etc. one cruise in Slough I was at not long ago some guy in a Peugeot rammed into a parked Ford Escort and just reversed and done a runner! Luckily I remembered his number plate and gave it to the poor sod who's car he hit!

u make sure u have some witnesses to say it was his fault, and that way it cant be disputed. I got fleeced a few years ago by some woman in a carp park who reversed into me, she accepted it and then I found out she blamed me so it had to go 50/50, which really pi55ed me off bcos the damage to both cars proved it was her fault.

Get a mate as a witness if u don't have one. Some twat hit me the other day and fucked my bumper, he had someone in the car whereas i never and was saying all kinds of shit like u never stoped when it was this twat who never stopped or even slowed down. Anyway, we just left it as i need my NCB and plus it's a 6 yr old car at the end of the day.

Someone reversed into my car last month. He got out his car and was apologising to his hearts content. Took his reg and insurance details etc then when i foned him he said i went into the back of him. i was like 'the cheeky wee c*nt!!!'. but i had a passenger and a witness so i just told him that and he shut up. i got a quote for the damage today from my mums work (glenvarigil volskwagen) and it was £504!! thats for a new bumper and headlight!

Also take clear pics of the damage done to your car and get a printed quote not just a verbal one.

Do not go and meet him!!
If they dont believe that theres damage to your car then thats their problem, get a written quote from the bodyshop for the repairs. Dont do it for cash etc then if he refuses to accept liablilty etc you have the proper paperwork to show the insurers.

This just happened to me last month. I was in a car park at a stables and a tractor with a 20ft trailer on the back reversed straight into my drivers side with me in the car!. Massive dents all along my side and smashed up all my windows. also it took my door handle off and put a 4 inch rip in the metal on my back door!
Like you, the guy got out and said 'sorry, my fault' etc etc, but then his dad tried turning it around and saying he would get a lad to put new doors on and spray it up etc but we had to pay for it (difficult considering my car is limited edition!) Anyways, turns out that there was 1,200 quids worth of damage, needed new back panel and two new doors! Woops! The insurance gave us courtesy car (sh:t hot rover 25) next day and got car repaired - we just paid excess. Body shop said it was obvious from damage it was other guys fault. Anyways, point is, insurance sorted it and it is going through solicitors as we speak. They reckon i have bout 95% chance of getting my excess back from guy who did it.
I reckon you should get in touch with insurance. My mate is a claims investigator and said whatever u do dont speak to person involved if u can help it. So long as u werent at fault go through insurance and get it sorted properly.

If it was the other guys fault then u shud get ur excess back. My Dad has had ppl hit him loads of times (about 8 in 3 years :lol and has always got the excess back. In his case -- he had set up £75 as his excess.
