Sounds like an experience Foz what does white flash's corsa sound like being a Td an' all. Guessing drilled box and some sweet exhaust ??? Could you tell it was a diesel ?

Depends how much money you wannna spend. If you got a big wallet, get a 1.4 16v MPI and tune. If not, get a 1.5 TD but get a later revised engine. Not the early ones.
not much diference is there? unless you go for a post 97 which was a Vaus engine

thing you have to remember though, kris's one seems to be running a lot more power than other td's ive seen. bonzai got 87 bhp, adam got 78 bhp, this is all with the same mods. plus he now has got some fuck off enormous intercooler which is similar size to the radiator and a gas flowed cylinder head with bigger injectors and a decat all sitting in the shed waiting to be fitted.
since the 99 bhp he has changed the bleed valve for a boost controller and removed the overboost valve and is now running at 0.95 bar.
bastard, still quicker than mine and i have done exactly the same stuff as him. must be a good engine. other annoying thing, kris's has done 3 times as much mileage as mine

yep cost me 15 quid to get too 99 bhp.
since then i have broken the bank though, i spent 21 quid on a new head off ebay which i have ported and polished, 15 quid on a xantia 2.1 td intercooler, injectors i got free (my uncle is in the engine remanufacturing trade hence the free labour i get) decat, well that cost £1 as thats how much it cost me for a ft of exhaust piping. now for the grand total of bout 100 quid i will have 125-130 bhp. now you cant call that money not well spent.
