if ya thinking of changin a few bit ya might as well do the lot, its easier in the long run, you wanna change
All gaskets, stem seals, reseat ya valves, rehone the bores with oversized piston rings, new main and big end bearing shells, new oil pump, water pump, idler pulleys, tensioner, cam belt, new hydraulic valve lifters, if ya do it ya self it can be done quite cheapely

if ya take it to a specialist, for a standard part re-build ya looking at from £800-£1000 i would say, after that the engine will be fresh with 0 miles, you can buy re-coned units already done though

k, i will look in to it, if you supply the engine, lee mitchel or beardy will surely fit it for £1000, they usually supply and fit the engine so you can drive away the next day or two for £1500

if ya got £1800 its £1000 to fit it which leaves £800 for you to source a re-build engine

90k is nothign on the redtops, if the compression test comes back fine then I'd save your money, they happily go to 150k without problems.

Mine had:

Main bearings
Conrod bearings
Thrust bearings
Crankshaft polishing
Piston rings
16 valve guide liners
16 valve seats cutting
16 valves cutting
Head re-facing
Bores glaze busting
Cam belt
Oil filter and oil
Plugs and leads
Conrod bolts
Cylinder head bolts
Main cap bolts
Flywheel bolts
Front pulley bolt
Water pump
Oil pump
Oil pressure switch
Air flow meter
Full gasket and seal set

Think that covers everything, clutch was found to be nearly new, cam belt, water pump etc were just a precaution too, no point rebuilding for them to bugger it up.
