You need to wire the voice coils in parallel then wire them to the amp in series.
Or you could wire the voice coils in series to make each sub 4 ohms then wire to the amp in parallel to make a 2 ohm load.

yeh connect the two positive terminals of the subs to the postivive terminal on the amp output and connect the two negative terminals on the subs to the negative terminal on the amp output.
thats called runnin in parrallel. two 4ohm speakers in parrallel = 2ohm impedance
that'll do it

right so basically oim missing a wire on each, so i should connect the positive to the negative on each sub....
does this mean only one coil is being used on the subs meaning lower sound...
cus they are working at the moment the way i have connected them...

eeek!
no offence to troublesome but it frightens me when ppl buy expensive equipment and dont know how to wire it up!
mostly the manufacturers fault really for not providing enough info to the buyer!

only if its a 2-ohm voicecoil. if ur sub isnt 2-ohm then no you cant i'm afraid. best thing is buy another 4ohm sub and wire them in parallel two get your higher 2ohm output from ur amp

i've got this amp
VVVV
http://www.legacycaraudio.com/itempage.asp?model=LA890
and i've bridged 2 channels to a pioneer 305c 12 incher and use the other 2 channels for my infinity 6x9's. The problem i've got is that it says on the website about it being 2 ohm stereo stable and 4 ohm bridgeable. My 6x9's are 4 ohm, so should i remove them from the amp ???
Cheers (soz for hijacking the topic !!)

no thats fine mate. that just means that u can run a 4ohm speaker across a bridged 2-channel output, and you can run down to a minimum of 2ohms on each output if u use the amp in stereo ur 6x9's are fine mate
