the zetec-s is slightely faster as its 16v and has 103bhp with 109 torque. the zs has equal length drive shaft to help eliminate torque steer and is 40% stiffer than the normal fiesta and has tweeked suspension

Stats from Evo magazine:
VTR 97-03 100 BHP
0-60 9.3 116 MPH
Zetec S 00-02 106BHP
0-60 10.2 113 MPH
Looks like the paxo wins on pefrormance mate.
ZS will be more tunable as its 16v though...

WTF???
so your considering a VTR but hate french cars (stereotypical ) cos you think the build quality sucks?
From my experience fella build quality is shite on the base model pugs and citroens. But no worse than say a corsa gsi / sport on the 106GTI

why do you hate the GTI?
just interested as im looking at one on Saturday.
In my opinion they look good
they are fast for a 1600cc hatch
leather+alacantara from 1998 onwards
all usual GTi extras.. PAS.... Leccys.... etc.
Handling is pretty much spot on for a little FWD car
cant fault them myself !
