i dont know much about turbos so this may sound daft. but can u just stick a turbo on a NA engine even if for just a little amount of power? i have a spare inlet and outlet manifold. or do ya need all internals changed and compression?

Its not an easy job in the slightest, even with a low power turbo. You need a custom zaust manifold for the turbo, all the neccesary pipework plus turbo, lower the compression, fit stronger rod bolts, pistons etc etc then think about uprating brakes.

oh yeah, then get it to run with a good mixture and set up properly with a re-mappable ECU done on a dyno. lol

u can turbo your car with a t15 turbo quiet easily.
U need
1. A Garrett T15 Turbo
2. exhaust manifold made for turbo
3. hoses
4. FSE boost valve
5. unichip
bad news is u only get 25 bhp and a dump valve sound

Depends whether you want a new one, what you want, what hoses you want etc etc etc
You could get a used T2 for about £100, then use industrial hoses which should be fairly cheap.
Get a IC off something that had it as standard.

then lower the compression. XE engines run silly high compression ratios, 10.5:1 for the 14XE i think. Its 11:1 for the C16XE, you need to bring it down to about 8:1

8:1 is very low for a low pressure turbo. Some turbo engines use 9.5:1, I think the let is 9:1

is it defo not possible to fit a turbo without lowering the compression? doesnt the unichip help do this?
like i say i dont know much about them so after fitting to the manifold, what hoses are needed and go where?

The unichip dont lower the compression, compression is set by how close the piston comes to the head, to lower the compression you need a thicker gasket, i have heard courteney do this by using 3 gaskets but this is a shite was to do it, all the unichip does is adjust you fuel etc going into the engine
