to rename and user, go control panel > admin tools > computer management > Select local users and groups - users. highlight the account name and RMC rename

getting the updates now.......also how do i get rid of the beeps? it isnt under sounds!

also i installed the new 6.1 msn messenger from msn.com and now it comes up with sex spyware msgs already!!!!!!

control panel > admin tools > services > find messenger and double click > put start type as disabled - and click stop

open up the case, see the speaker? unplug it
or have a look under "Sound and Audio Devices" under control panel and see if there is an option to turn it off or disable it (i did the former btw )
