just tell him u dont want it. he can claim of ebay for fees and then relist the item. you might even get away with not having negative feedback.

i remember once clicking on the buy it now option didnt give any card details or anything like that just asked for a price including shipping.
next thing i know i get a congraulations email telling me "we hope u like yer purchase"
then yer man emails me and the item was 100 quid more than it was listed for cos it was getting shipped form america. It was only a bloody computer program
told him i didnt want it and he went mental!
eventually got sick of his stupid emails and told him were to stick his poxy program(and also insulted his mother to a degree ) All i got was a warning from ebay.

Even though its "meant" to be legally binding, I think you can get away with ignoring his emails and say you never recieved any.
You shouldnt have placed a bid if you werent seriously interested in buying the item.

its legally binding, when you sign up you agree to the contract and obviously you've not read that, they can go through the appropriate legal channels, you have no arguement

Apologise for not wanting to go through with the deal, you may need to offer his listing and closure fee, which you can work out the amount in the eBay help files.
You're not legally bound to pay, you also don't have to get bad feedback. It all depends on the seller and how they feel - and to be honest they'd be unreasonable to not accept a full refund of their costs and nothing more.
