I took out a £5k loan to put towards my car when I bought it, the pro is the obvious "not having to wait until you've saved enough money up". The con is the "having to pay it back, and having to make sure you're earning enough for however many years you decide to pay it back over".

I decided to make mine over 3 years, with a 4-month payment holiday, am paying back £156 a month but it should all be cleared by January/February 2005.

I took out out 10k over 4 years, paid it for a year, then had the money to settle, think I was paying around 13k back over the 4 years - fuck that I'll just buy what I can afford upfront now days.

Declare bankruptcy. Failing that fake your own death then they'll get paid off

I did, wouldnt touch car finance now tho, even if I didnt have other options!

Yes I did inherit some money but invested it and it almost doubled in 4 years, most of its still tied up just now

My loans pay off soon (which will give me an extra £200 a month to spend), am in the process of paying off my credit card bill (playing 0% interest "tennis" between my two cards).

After that's done, I have the fun of looking to buy a house!
