lol and yes i know the place, i went there to get my 1st lip bar after i got my lip pierced,. the bar is the stud m8 its got the screw on ball things

Me had it done about three years or so now. It didn't hurt me and it hardly swelled at all- but everyones got a different pain threshold etc haven't they.

My tongue swelled up fir about a week & couldnt eat for 3 days

but that was about 3 years ago aswell, not have a .6mm oversized bar in now (width not length) and cat get a toothpick through it

Personally i didnt think it hurt at all, although trying to eat for the first couple of days is a bitch, didnt bleed much either, tip: Eat ice lollies and you'll be fine,
