i quite like some emo stuff, but think it's getting a bit saturated now. prefer older stuff like the promise ring, sunny day real estate etc. just not sure if emo ever should have been classed as hardcore music, i mean it's a long way from minor threat (one of the greatest bands in the known universe!!)

who has been classifying emo ad hardcore - emo is emo - hardcore is hardcore not to be confused with each other. altho bands like F.F.A.F and H.I.F.H's kinbda bring the together nicely!!

fair enough! think i was jumping the gun a bit there! that's kinda what i meant, but i didn't put it too well, although f.f.a.f. are a metal band! they look like an emo band and share the sentiment of one, but they rock with full on satan fingers!!! nothing wrong with that though, but killswitch engage they are not - they rock like men, with hair on their chests!! emo originally was born out of the hardcore scene, and will always be synonymous with it, and i reckon there will always be crossover between the 2. i thinks it's not so much a matter of liking one or the other, as which you like most

im guilty of being quite narrowminded when it comes to classifying music. but if we're honest - genres and classifying music sux. music is music - let it be wut it is without givin it a title.
