They wern't banned, Group B ralling was stopped because all the cars were stupidly fast and it was too dangerous, you still see the odd 6R4 on rallies

Aye, Grp B rallying was banned, not the individual cars.
One of the reasons was that people were using roll cages as containers for NO2 as it was banned, this caused problems when cars rolled over
