Wouldnt blow the car up at all.

That engine would easily take a 25bhp shot. Probably 50 on a progressive controller.

As long as its set up right, its not gonna blow anything up.

That may well be true, but if u come up to a car with NOS at a set of lights, and it pisses all over u, u'd still feel like a loser. NOS or not.

I wouldnt get ahead of urself matey.....U'd only be able run 50-60bhp max on that engine, and even that would be progressively injected.

125bhp wont be lightning. A Corsa C 1.8 SRI would still beat u, and even their not as fast as decent BMs!

NOS will add a few bhp...but at the end of the day its gonna do some damage to the engine.

Ive heard it burns very hot and causes ALOT of uneccessary engine wear...read up a bit on it before u take the plunge

a 50bhp shot will not mean you add 50 bhp to you car it dont work like that.

no no i wouldnt feel a dick if someone with nos beat me off the lights, id just laugh and thik 'you sent £1.5k or more to do that with chemicals! wow!

Some many people say this and i fail to see how its "a pussys way", is there a difference taking your car somewhere and having nos fitted or taking it somewhere and having tb's fitted The answer is NO!!

You can fit nos to any engine, although there are many variables that would determine if it would be a cost effective modifcation to increase bhp. I wouldnt recommend it on a 1.2 personally Ive run 50bhp wizard kit on my C16xe for the last 6 months and the only problems i have had is o/e clutchs dont last very long When i fit my C20xe ill continue running the nos but will invest in a progressive controller.

Greg is right in saying 50bhp jets dont mean 50bhp to the wheels, its probably closer to 40bhp increase.

I would recommend nos to anyone, providing its fitted correctly by a approved dealer it should give you no problems and a big smile

I remember a 1.2 16v Corsa C having a 50 bhp shot of nos at Trax last year or something?

Claimed he had 140 mph out of it... I was smelling bullshit - but he definately had nos.

Not true, The nitrogen can actually lower combustion temp altho there will be more strain on the engine due to the extra power.

Look at it this way, a TURBO works by forcing more air (OXYGEN) into the engine thus using more fuel which gives more power,

When N2O (NOS) is injected the N2O breaks down into OXYGEN which allows for more fuel to be burnt resulting in more power and NITROGEN which cools the intake temp. NEARLY EXACTLY the same as a TURBO and INTERCOOLER but without the weight and mechanical parts.

I'm not a massive NOS fan but I apreciate the gains involved

i simply meant that getting BHP is easier and better buy the means of zorst, manifold, ecu, fuel, air. the same old. rather than slapping NOS in a more or less standard engine.

in a modded engine nos is worth while upgrade. and luke, your cars mint anyway!
