Hi all, just wanted to post how my crappy corsa is looking and how u lot wud suggest fixing it up! Its a 1.2 LS with X Race induction kit, brand new CAT+middle pipe+backbox with a squared tailpipe, eyebrows (cheers Ed), red side indicators, custom made parcel shelf with 300w JBL 6x9 and Sony mp3 head unit. Had car about 2-3 months and is first car and really jsut want to say WHY IS IT SO SLOOOOOOW??? Honestly iv only ever got it to 99mph down a hill on M25 and usually maxes out at 90 anyway if im lucky, whilst taking ages to get there! ANy ideas for makin it better? thought of painting rear black boot key area to red, hav sanded it down nearly ready..lol!

Cheers lads ur cars look quality!
John

Heres a few pics;

yeh wot u think about 16" bright white touring car syle rims and gmax 35mm drop? wud i stil need to roll it? stil not going to make it faster tho is it! Anyone else got same engine but go faster? Feels like somethings holding it back cos m8s peugot (seen in 3rd pic in distance) is so much nippier and 1.0L and does 105mph!!! wot u (all) think of removiing black side strips? Need Gsi bumpers but seems no corsas in general are ever at the scrapyards?!?!

love the colour coding of bumpers, was this hard to do? Looks sooo much better! Cud u explain how u did the filling and why? Iv tried getting the vauxhall badge plastic bit off but its properly wedged into bumper!! I cant eblieve how little air gets to the engine bay as the plastic thing stops it all!!
how u do this then?:::

rite, i took a saw to the grill cutting it off at the sides, then cutting at the lowest point on the vauxhall badge thing in the centre. i then used filler to fill the hole left by badge and to smooth the edges off where the grill was cut away.
it would probably be better if you could pick up a post 97 corsa bumper, as the grill is removed easily without cutting and then have that colour coded and an aftermarket grill fitted

Getting wheels and the car lowered will not make you go quicker. But you can go round go corners quicker, so you come out of the corner at a higher speed! so in away you can go quicker

Tried cable tieing a hose I found to dirct air to filter but in the end it melted LOL! Also took off manifold cover, not sure why but mate said mite keep it bit cooler... anyways heres sum pics!

The induction is there to let more air in, not to hear it.
It's a bit expensive to fit one just to hear it.
Record the sound a decent engine makes, copy it onto CD, and play it inside your car

no matter what you do to that engine, it will always be slow.
get a bigger engine to solve your problems.

Bodywork is expensive to do properly. I wouldn't even consider modifying the grille, just lower it, throw a set of nice 15s on it and stop wasting time and money on engine and wacky body mods.
