Location Services

As part of the first phase of this we're now logging postcode data and enabling users to look up and store post names alongside that. Location can now be looked up as well as added normally (profiles may still be edited in the same way).

The major functionality is yet to appear but I need some data to test with first. Your location is publically available when you post, so don't pick anything which identifies your location too exactly. Your postcode is completely private and is only used in working out distances.

vibrio - it should come up with more than one option.

Ian - Why not see if you can get a license or strike a deal with mapquest.co.uk ? Would be good to see their directions thing in the location services of corsasport.

I find that to be a really helpful site.

you put in ur post code - and it puts up a map of england (fk the scottish and welsh) well infact part of a map, like 50 mile radius of ur postcode, and shows all of the other people within that area

if ya understand that

First and foremost I want just simple maths ala Autotrader site, we need to recompile PHP to get graphics like gt4oc has but yeah, the data is in the right format to do something like that.

I'll maybe drop the ability to pinpoint people and their cars to within a mile or two like you can there though!

Edit - just looked in the profiles - accuracy is to within a metre
