a std c20xe with TB's will be pretty even with std c20let.... less power but more usable power...

Then it really comes down to how much you spend, and on what.... for 1k more the turbo will be faster.....

this debate has gone on for ages about whats better to have c20let turbo or the c20xe on tb's and generally the opinions are from people who have never owned/driven either of them. but if that was the case then most of corsasport will have owned one so that cant be right can it?

i think an XE on tb's would be a better track car than a c20let

i think a c20let is more fun to drive and when moderately tuned, far superior in power to the XE

my verdict- c20let for driving daily or road projects
c20xe for track experimenting or lower insurance

depends how well you treat it

a lot of people will say ' they are shit they break down every 2 minutes blah de blah'
but why do they break down? these engines are all designed the same, all made out of the same gear and materials so why would one engine be worse than the other? it's how its treat, wether it be 1mile ago or 30,000miles ago

regular oil changes, checks, no stupid mods, just basically look after it and you have a good engine

then there's the previous work done to the engine before its in your hands, could that cock something up? hence why you should get service history

there will be a lot of people who will fill your head with utter nonsense, don't be naive enough to to listen to it and you cant go wrong

yes adam, there is that extra temptation, there's no better person to ask than someone who owns an xe or let, like me n u as we experienced things with these engines.

as soon as boost is upped, your reducing the 'reliability'
if you drive a c20let within it's boundaries, you get a good fun factor and they are reliable, same with the XE's and generally same with any engine.

this is the other side of the arguement, how do you define 'suitable'? suitable being safe? or suitable being racing down country lanes?

i drive my corsa LET daily now, and i've managed 210miles from 40litres of fuel which i think is quite good compared to what people were telling me before i fitted it, i had people saying ' you'll only get 100miles to a full tank' etc.......

yet again it depends how you treat the car, and i do open it up when roads are clear and i just generally feel like booting it

where'd you get that nonsense from?

TB's are just an expansion on the setup on every car..... 4 tb's instead of one single TB for x cylinders.....

They are ECU controlled... unlike carbs.....

TB's are an ace power gain, and i think they are quite safe compared to a c20let with mods over 300bhp

saying that..... its mega expensive the get a c20xe to 300bhp..... but quite easy with the right parts and common sense for a LET...

I think, as you've said, its down to pref taste..... If you like sreaming rev's and NA power.... TB's. If you like the turbo 'pull' go for a C20Let...
