Was with a tvr chimaira?!? i think, soft top thing it was, we raced from stand still all the way to a top end, from start it had the edge of about a car length to about 60 odd then i started to pull away quite a bit, from about top of 3rd onwards i was pulling away all the way to near the top end of 6th gear i was quite a fair few car lengths ahead, what kind of power are these? respect to the guy for going to near his top speed it must of been in a soft top

nah i still got it, although if someone offers me in the region of 5.5k for it its gone lol, but its sooo much fun to keep, m3's to porsches, now to tvrs it can beat it was a 53 plate tvr if that makes any difference to its spec, best of it was he had his hot lookin blonde missus in the car and the top down which was nice. but it was very quick off the line no spin whatsoever, even with the lsd its hard to get good grip in mine

its crossed my mind a few times. I had all the ice out the other day, and u can really notice the difference on acceleration. The 18s look real nice though...plus if i put 16's on it it wud be way too low, the sump catches on stupid speed bumps as it is It did have gold 17" courtenay speedlines on it when it was first done but they were sold a long time ago..

I cannot believe you have a 300bhp Astra and you have ICE and 18's

it handles well and goes well with the 18's im sure there wudnt be much difference with 17's which is the smallest i cud go really, and the ice only makes a difference to a bit of accel and i dont go santa pod so its not like im tryin to knock seconds off my quarter. It also entertains me, after a while it gets boring listening to an engine all the time

Alex, would be good to have a play with your car! Like you, I've not had time to take mine to the pod, so I have no yard stick for performance in that department! All I know is what I have beaten on the road....

I've never quater miled ever, so don't expect to pull any trees up! I can semi launch my car on the road, but from what I gather Pod is a lot stickier? Would have to learn how to launch the thing again?

ive never really tried launching mine as such, the diff helps a lot but sometimes its a bit too much, i might go down pod sometime when there not a lot of ppl there to look stupid in front of lol

I've no LSD, so its the fine art of balancing the throttle to minimise wheelspin for me! Second gear launches are good, but the clutch smells after LOL
Agree about not wanting to look a fool! Might sneek in on a Thursday afternoon in a gap through the fence for some practice runs

Have to say, only 1st gear is useless on mine. If I gently feed the power it grips a bit in second.
I think I'm ok without one. BUT I have never been in a car with one on, so I deffo dont know what I'm missing out on!
