A friend of mine was in the bowling alley and some guy started shoving him around, so he shoved them back. My mate was on his own and the other lad had mates, so he tried to get away from him. The lad chased after him and had hold of him. So my mate hit him with a steering lock in the chest. My mate was arrested and the other lad taken to hospital.
My mate has no previous convictions or has never done this before.
Does anyone know what he is likely to get?

i got done last year for abh when the lad i was seein beat the livin daylights out of his then ex ( now gf) and she blamed me
its a pretty serious offence, think its like 3yrs or summat, but i was shitting, i had no previous but she dropped the charges, the copper said to me if it had gone to court, cos she was bigger than me etc, she was pissed i was sober etc, it wudnt have stood up,
depends on the injurys tho

Same kinda thing happened to my mate in a night club on his own, hit the guy with a bottle and partially blinded him.....he could get up to 2yrs I think even tho its his first offence and he was defending himself...a fine and compensation is more likely tho!

if u say it was self defence they want to know who struck first etc, but say he was intimidated, usually works i reckon

It all depends on the circumstances, if there were loads of them then he can use it as self defence

well the guy pushed him first, they have that on CCTV, but they dont have what happened after, because that was outside.

depends, me a a couple of mates got started on by a group of lads outdside a nightclub, and the resulting fight put two of them in hospital and the others quite bashed up we were going to get done before the charges were dropped even thou there was twice as many of them....
We used excessive force defending ourselves

Try pre-empted strike, might work. Don't know though if it was a steering lock. Not much will happen though if they don't go ahead with it.

Like everyone else said, sounds to me like he was acting in self defence (the steering lock bit might not go down to well tho)

he can vow it was either using the steering lock and saving himself or not using it and taken a huge beating and could of been left for dead, think we would all do the same
