You can do it up, and when you come to sell it, no one will ever know it was damaged.

Given the minimal amount of damage it appears to have, it looks like a bargain.

Not true, they could only sue you if they asked has it been in an accident and you said no. It is up to the buyer to ask the question's. A seller is not obliged to tell the buyer anything unless asked.

I too am surprised the insurance company didn't repair it, however alot of people refuse to have their cars repaired when their car is so new and demand an alternative.

Therefore the salvage company may have offer to bridge the gap between the amount of the repair and a replacement cost. Lots of reasons for it really.

The previous owner may not have even reported the accident to their insurance company (There may not have been any other vehicle involved) and just sold it to the salvage company. The salvage company will be able to confirm why it han't been recorded.

If it was a cut and shut it wouldn't be being sold as an undamaged car wouldnt it !! Plus it's only a few months old.

If I didn't already have one i'd seriously consider buying this car.

It says it was registered in 04, on a 53 plate. So it will be between January and March 04.

My guess is that it was a hire car which was pranged, in which case the hire company would pass it back to the lease company/manufacturer who would decided if its worth repairing. More often than not they class it as a cat C.

By the looks of it and the missing alloys on the front it may well have had a meeting with a high kerb or similar, would account for the bumper damage but could also mean subframe/chassis damage which would be why it wasnt repaired.
