depends what engine in the breeze. At a guess, i thought they only came with crap 1.2 8v engines, so the SXi will be better since it has the 16v 1.2 engine.

yeah they will be the same engines and gearboxes. same performance then. j4cko, you havent had 120mph out of it. your speedo is reading incorrectly. the 1.6 only just manages 120mph.

ive got a breeze on a T plate and came with the 1.2 16v engine Its a nice car and all, came with some decent extras, leccy windows, sunroof etc etc
and i believe the sxi and breeze were similar, not the same though - had different interior, and i always thought you could get leather for the sxi's? whereas you couldnt on the breeze's?

the gearbox will be same to anything that has the F13 box (1.4 8v, 1.216v & some 8v)
suspension will probs just be something like 10mm lower as standard with better quality shocks, but nothing great!

I beg to differ, the SXi like my old 2000 model had the same box as the sport 1.4 16v which is different to all the other 1.2 16v's.
The suspension was better dampers with shorter springs.

must be something wrong with 1.6's

Just because the speedo says 120, doesn't mean the car is doing 120. This has already been said in this thread.

Unless your astra has had an engine conversion from another 1.6 corsa, your astra does not have the same engine as a corsa. It will have the X16XEV engine, which produces 100bhp, 6bhp less than the X16XE found in some Corsa GSi's and Sport 1.6's. It has 9bhp less than the C16XE engine found in the early GSi's. your top speed will be about 115mph.

you are wrong actually, all 1.2 8v's had the F10 4/5 gearbox, and the 1.4 8v Hi-Torq had the F13WR box and the 1.4 8v SRi had the F13CR, all other 16v corsas had the F13CR box, including the 1.2 16v, 1.4 16v. The 1.6 16v Sport and GSi had the F15CR box. The SXi had the same suspension from the Sport line of stiffened shocks and slightly lower.
