my 1.6 16v Gsi used to have a very nice deep rumbling scooby induction sound with just KnN and cat-back zorst!
but over the two years i had the car the sound slowly faded down and is not as loud as before? any ideas???
think it might have somthing to do with the engine and inlet... as its in bad condition now, high oil consumption/burning, small oil leaks and lack of power after 5.5k revs, and car jerks if i let go of throttle suddenly??

scooby sound? you mean from the boxter engine (iirc)?
Can only suggest you save up for a scooby if you want the scooby sound

When i drilled my airbox, the first thing i noticed when i revved it was that it sounded like an impreza turbo, its something to do with the very similar inlet plenums between the 1.6 engine and the boxter engine, the resonating sound was cool, I had a cold air feed running from bumper and made my girlf stick her hand under it to see if it was sucking

i dont want a scooby, just want that scooby sound back!
the car has viper induction kit and cat-back zorst... the inlet system could be cloged up, causing jerking and sound loss??
ive had it for two years and its now at 90K miles!!
in the last year the engine problems started... with the fading of the sound, loads of oil leaks- engines covered in oil! white smoke on hard accel, power loss, so im pretty sure ALL gaskets need changing, valve stem seals, maybe even piston rings
