So basically, the vtr would be able to beat the 306 quite comfortably or will the turbo have the better of me top end wise?
Thing is me and my mate are both selling our corsas, i have a 1.2 8v and he's got a 1.5d, we used to try and race each, i was just able to beat him before so was hoping the VTR would beat him, dont want him rubbing it in to me
happy the vtr is quicker

Yes later VTR's are 100bhp. Will beat the 306 comfortably to 60/70ish, after that i would have thought the 306 would gain a bit due to the torque difference. Would still put my money on the VTR in a 0-100 sprint though.

the 306 is significantly slower than the VTR. the VTR is a slow car and the 306 even slower

Theres no way a 306TD will catch a VTR at any point. Have you been in a TD? Everyone bangs on about them being fast but their crap, especially on the motorway. I have to drive my boss' Seat Leon 130 sometimes and although its a laugh round town its bollox on the motorway. Load of shite, wouldn't own a diesel ever.

a lexus isnt made for going fast standing starts ! they weight almost 2tonnes and have a 2litre ,, id be pretty suprised if it beat it on the motorway at high speeds

A lexus is200 will go from 0-60 in 9.2 seconds and has a top speed of 134. My money would be on the lexus...

Uh huh, thanks, but no thanks. I'll take petrol every time.
When a diesel comes past my flat out MR2 I'll conceed they aren't slow, until then, its just a mobile smoke machine.
