finally had to bite the biscuit and admit that -60mm is just too low for the roads round here. finally came to the decision when my rear spring popped out and one of the front bump stops decided to completely dissapear by disintegrating
then while taking my missus back home the other night with 2 bags of clothes on the back seat the arches would just not shut up and it just fucked me right off
so ive bought bilstein gas shocks and -40mm spring set. just hope it dont appear too much higher

yep. decided that id rather save whats left of the chassis and have it slightly higher. plus the PI shocks i got are total gash and it dont help that they are mis-matched to spax springs.
still gonna keep the lower setup for shows tho

Well i say thinking i though about it for about 10mins one day!
I have been bottoming out on the road in a few places lateely mainly the front bumper and sideskirt but i love my car as low and if i could i would go lower but i would need dead flat roads!
i reackon i must be down 80 mm and love it!

theres an answer too this....
SLOW DOWN
nah seriously i think the state of roads round me r shite!! if we cant lower our cars how we want then we should stop paying road tax!!
we pay it too keep the roads in good condition right.
so y aint they?? if we cant dirve our cars down a road when its lowered 60mm at the speed limit its crap!!!!!
</End rant>

So because your car is modified and not suitable for the roads, you shouldn't pay tax? They don't tend to smooth out bumpy roads just because they're bumpy, and the roads that take the heavy traffic are smooth enough anyway. Speed limits are the maximum speed, not the speed you have to drive at. If it's not suitable to drive 60mph, don't.
The roads round us are exactly why my car is still standard ride height.

i agree with dan the roads in some areas are unsuitable for standard cars to be driven on, never mind lowered ones, why do we pay road tax anyway...for the roads to be maintained, the road to my house has been resurfaced once since i lived there, and that was 20years ago, now the road is down to the hardcore under neath with stupic pot holes, tell the council and they dont do anything about it
not wanting to spoil ur thread mate! u may even notice it handles bettre now too

i was told right at the beginning of my modding life that lowering a car more than 40mm will ruin the handling.....
i have shite roads near me, but also drive through ploughed fields, gives ur suspension something to do imo

with a bit of luck what it lacks in looks it will make up for with slightly better handling then

This doesn't rub at all
Exhaust catches on the biggest speed bumps very occasionally with 4 people in the car

The roads are shite, I admitted that my car is still standard height because of the roads. My point was you shouldn't get out of tax just because your car is too low.
