fitted the front coilovers on my car yesterday..... when i went to put the wheel on, it was instantly touching the wheel
called beardy and asked what i needed 2 do, told me i need a 5mm spacer... went and got some, fitted them, wheels still catching on the coilover.... so i adjusted the camber on them to top out as far as possible.
there is no way i am gonna get them on as it is, could it b because i have federal tyres, that have rim protectors? i think it is still catching on the rim tho.
any help will b well appreciated...

bigger spacers but use longer bolts too for safety

no dont go fitting bigger spacers that wont solve ur problem, speak to adisri and siberia off here they have got round the problem somehow cant remember now tho!

i heard this b4, and someone came up with a solution which makes the smaller coil inactive, so a total waste of money really.
don't know how u get around, but u want to keep the springyness (sp) (might not even be a real word) of the smaller coil

If FK coilovers dont fit on like every ones corsa that has tried i would send em back and say OI you Twats your selling a kit that dont fit, and get one that did.

the foot notes say u may have to use spacers so thats them covered....

i think they loosend the lower bolts and pushed the coilover in a bitand bolted back up
or somthing similar

i tryed spacers and the car was fecken awfull.....
they should be sold with the smaller helper springs that FK make when they are being installed on a corsa B.
If you ring Toby in rimstyle he has a set of these smaller helper spring for me that i dont want cos it took him 2 months to get them for me and sorted it my own way in that time.......
with these springs u will be able to higher up the coilover so the spring platform doesnt hit yer tyre but still keep the car low if ya get me.
oh and to get the camber right u can either take it to a garage or i have a little formula for doing it.

the little spring don't do anything anymore, its fully compressed all the time

^they are still coilovers the smaller helper spring will decompress if ya go over a large bump/jump.....
+ the chap in BAT motor sport told me that FK have been TUV approved to actually run these coilovers without the helper spring altogether.......
i also tryed this and the car was just just fecking woahfulllll

helper springs are only there to take up the slack if you go over a jump like when the car is used for rallying.....
yer never going to go over a big enough one on the road....

what about when wheel move up
the spring compresses then, if it fully compressed already then ur just using the main spring, helper spring will asborb smaller bumps normally without the main spring moving/compressing, giving smoother ride

my car with the normal fk helper springs
the helper is fully compressed...... also read what i said above if you stand on these springs there fully compressed.

I've been told that the little spring is to keep pressure on the large one when the car is jacked up because if the spring goes loose when on the jack its an MOT failure. Mine is compressed fully all the time.
