as you probably know, some dappy woman has written my car off so i need to get rid of a few bits, first is this bumper, in flame red it has two small cracks in it and a couple of scratches, as it is salvagable, thought i may as well sell it

that is easily repaired, run a soldering iron up both sides of the crack too melt it back together, then use a small amount of filler to smooth it out, could repaire in 15 minutes.

jesus i bought a whole red gsi kit for 230 in mint condition off club vauxhall it is not worth that amount damaged

230 was a very cheap price for a mint cond kit tho to be fair although imo, i wouldnt say thats worth 150

^^  £120 maybe max, if its so easy to repair do it and then you might get 150 ?

shocking how things have changed....back in the day i got a full GSi kit and arches for 150....

Well put it this way, to have the bumper fixed and painted including the the price of buying it (£150 for example) your talkin £300 max, the price for a new bumper from Vaux is £300+VAT then you've got to get it painted wich is another £100-£200.
Do the math people

so big eck you think to repair and paint that front bumper,itl only cost £150, but to just paint a brand new bumper will cost £200?something dont add up to me!going rate for painting is £200 a panel,so to repair and paint that front will be around £250-275!

I will be looking for around £120 as the repairs are fairly minor and i could do with getting rid of it.
shame really, it was only resprayed about 3 month ago

He said if you buy this bumper and to get it painted and fixed it would cost 300 quid max!
Where as if you bought a new one from vaux you looking at 300 + vat then painting on top!
To be honest the damage aint that bad, so i would say 300 max to buy, fix and paint it is a fair ish estimation. IMO.

as said above, that damage can be easily fixed in 15 minutes. as for painting, it will be cheaper than a new 1 for 2 reasons:
1. its already had the texture removed, that will save an hours worth of labour
2. it will only need scotching of apart from the small bits of primer where the filler was, hence saving more labour time.
it will be a brand new bumper when finnished, who cares if it wasnt to begin with.
like the people who pay less for 2nd hand fibreglass bumpers, i say they are worth more as they already fit and you dont have all the fanny arsing about making the crap new ones fit.

Its still cheaper than buying new especially if you're not paying top dollar for the work it needs.
They're worth 200 at least. Nice and rare
