Looks like CIA Insurance have fuct up good and proper.

Spoke to the girl this morning and she was asking how much all my mods were worth and that they are looking into another insurer.

Can they do this? (after 4 months of hassle - Wrong car/no mods/then right car mods/then no mods etc)

Can I request a full refund? If they do put me onto another insurance company will the policy be re-set of will I just have to stay 6 months.

Bloody idiots.

It started off I received a document from Zurich (whom they go through)

And the car was insured as a Renault Megane RT Sport E (NOT a Coupe)

So phoned up, yeah thats fine no problem send you another cover note.

Same problem again.

Got another one on Tuesday (16 phone calls later) and its still wrong.

So after getting put on old most of tuesday morning they get it sorted as a Coupe, so I thought better check all mods are uptodate.

...what modifcations they say...?

Bollocks.

Its Elle from CIA, so stay clear.

I'd also like to point out that the policy stared in July

For the car standard it was 560 quid

with modifications it went up to 820. They charged me 820 yet got car wrong and no modfications?

Well they took your money and fucked up the paperwork looks like, surely they cant charge you more or anything

Hit them with - If your mods havnt been insured by them for the last 4 months then they have no right to have charged you any extra to begin with..........demand a refund 'or' they sort this mess out and honour your policy until your renewal......also ask to speak to management or someone who knows what the fuck they are doing!!!

They want to charge you £1600 Thats not on!

Isnt there some sort of general insurers regulating comity...threaten to report them to it! There fuckup - They must sort it!

Ask what would have happened if you were in an accident and there fuckup policy didnt cover you?

Surely they cant do that, although they will probably have a getout clause written into the terms and conditions that nobody reads! Threaten to report it to the ABI (association of Brittish Insurers) for misconduct on there behalf! You havnt done anything wrong, and as a result have paid more money for the wrong policy that wasnt valid anyway!!!

Your car technically wasnt insured for those 4 months = Full refund!

Ask exactly what right they have to take £320 from you, surely not for a void insurance policy You should be looking to seek compensation from them for wasting your time!!!

ABI dont cover motor insurance. you have to go through their internal complaints procedure first otherwise no external people will touch you. if it cant be satisfied internally you can contact GISC (General Insurance Standards Council) http://www.gisc.co.uk/consumer/ theres a form you fill in and send off and they look into it.

With which company? How old are you? I suspect this amount will change when you actually take out the policy
