I'm 20 in November and will have been driving 3 years with 1 years ncb in low risk area.
So far I've owned:
Vauxhall Nova 1.4 Sri
Ford Escort 1.6 SI Zetec
Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 16V Sport
I Have so far considered:
Renault Clio 1.8 16V
Corsa 2.0 16V
Renault Clio 1.5 DCi 60/80
Pug 106 GTI
Pug 306 GTI 6
Vauxhall Astra 1.6/1.8 SXi
Vauxhall Astra 2.0 Dti SRi
Renault Clio 172/182
The Dilemma I have is I travel 250 miles alone just commuting each week. So I am having to consider running costs/ depreciation.
Running two cars would be too expensive I feel, as 2 lots of tax/mot/insurance is needed
Oh the joys

maybe a golf tdi 150bhp model seeing as you do so many miles and then get it chipped to 200bhp which should keep you happy for a while

250 miles a week? that nothing I was doing 1K in my valver a week
i would say clio 172 if you want a bit of comfort and decent performance.
I am biased as i love my valver corsa but its all down to what you want from a car.

Shit to be honest
Every bump nearly rips front of my car off
I think i'll stop buying second hand stuff and get some new suspension. How much for koni yellow? And where from?

erm i didnt want to say but i felt billies bfpre and they are always harsh
Joffs are unreal you actually leave the seat at every bump
I would either ask red SXi what he can do for you or try Road Runner (0115 978 1173)
They do the front dampers for £100 each and the rears for £63 each or the full kit for £360
i used to think mine was well harsh but far from it compared to some cars i been out in recently

I think the ones I fitted are shagged tho, they are worse than just harsh and one side is worse than the other
I want something that drops the car 50 or 60 and isn't stupidly bumpy, is this too much to ask for?

well get the full koni kit that comes with terra springs i think? that is suposed to be a 45mm drop but is more like a 50-55 and is not that harsh at all
I wouldnt say your dampers are fucked as billies are renound for being harsh as fook I guess you checked the dampers for leaks etc before you put them on?
p.s sorry alex we are hijacking your thread

mayb the drop is too much for the damper cos Joffs IRRC is a massive drop of 70-80mm aint it? hence how harsh it is
either way i am biased to say koni yellows like every other mofo
