Fix Or Repair Daily has never meant more to me than the problem after problem i've had with the RS.
The latest in the list is the steering rack snapping, maybe i've just been unlucky but i've had enough

Apparently steerting racks for the RS's are different ratios compared to the others, so fitting a standard one would involve turning the wheel more times to get the same amount of movement, plus with wider wheels and no power sterring it would just be hassle.
They rang FORDs who told them they no longer make the rack for the RS, and they asked about rebuilding it etc & were told the price would be ' as long as a piece of string' depending on how bad it was, & apparently it was BAD.
With all the parts that need replacing on it due to this going wrong was £275 before VAT add on god knows what for refurbing a rack & then the labour to fit it & it no longer seems worth it to keep an old shoddy car on the road so will be breaking it.

Ive found out Warrenty isnt worth the paper its written on sometimes if your car breaks. I got offered one with my Subaru and came to a deal with the salesman, if it broke - then id buy one and he would back date it
