I'm after getting one of the above, but not sure which is the best allrounder for games, graphics, features etc. Just wondered if anyone has had any experience of the two and give me an unbiased view !!!

Cheers ppl !!!

PS2 has a better range of games and is the only option if you're a Gran Turismo fan.
X-box probably the better machine, but Sega's were always better than Nintendo's on paper and it didn't do them much good.

we considering the xbox runs a cut version of windows CE, yea it is odd

although the games are better one the PS2, xbox is offers better graphics, newer technology and its easier to repair if anything goes wrong. Ontop of that you can mod the xbox alot easier and it has ethernet support out of the box.

however, personally i would wait until next year when xbox2 comes out, it should be alot better and be less "multimedia, control your whole house" system that sony are planning for the ps3

That new ps2 looks amazing. Its absolutely tiny. Go and look at 1 in the flesh and you'll probably buy it just for that.

I'm in the same boat - dunno whether to buy one of those Xbox's with transparent case or a slimline PS2.

I used to have a (black case) X-box ages ago and that seemed better in terms of gameplay and graphics - better than a mate's PS2, but didn't have GTA - Vice City on it.

Is it available on X-box now though? (sorry - not much of a gaming person, but I really like Vice City and I played it on my mate's PS2 at the time!).

If you get a PS2 now, the games out at the mo are the best it will get. The XBox is still not at its best capability and games can only improve.

Still got some good releases due though, GT4 being one of them. And obviously the Xbox is better it came out after...........Wouldve been laughable for the Xbox to be slower with worse graphics then to bring it out after the PS2.

yeah the PStwo is smaller, but its top loading, so no putting it down the side of the tv anymore it also sounds like a jackhammer whilst loading

xbox you can stand a 14'' TV on

True about the Xbox and TV on top. I have the PS2 and i think it looks alright. It fits nicely on my TV unit as it can stand vertically. Besides i dont really mid what my consoles look like.
