While the money's there, withdraw the money and close the account - letting them know you're going to be an aid worker in Mozambique and give them a fake forwarding address.
Then at the fake forwarding address, employ a Romanian asylum seeker to answer phone calls in Flemish whilst wearing a straw boater.
By the time the bank realise the mistake, you'll be well away on your Sunseeker!

She's lucky then, I'm sure this happened in my work and they put a stop on the salary to deduct an amount every month until it was all paid back.

that doesnt happen. when it goes through clearings it may get checked if its a large amount but £400 will only get noticed when the person who wrote the cheque complains

lol exactly! the person who's written the cheque will be £400 down in there account and will most certainly not be happy.
Also if u spend the money they will claim that you knew that the money wasnt urs as you wud have had £400 paid in instead of £4 meaning that you are liable.
The bank arent going to let u just spend £400 and leave them to pick up the bill are they! and any1 that says they will are thick simple as!
