actaully its not just cos they're sony and shite, its cos those little autoleads adapters are fucking crap. they dont secure well enough. due to them the sound on my comps keeps creackling and breaking up completly but i havent been fucked to take all the door off again to fix it.

thats nothing to do with the autolead adaptors mate
i can assure you now that everyone on here who has aftermarket speakers has a set of autoleads adpators (unless they built their own pods/adaptors etc) and no one has ever had problems The only thing i have done is wacked some foam door seal stuff (comes in a roll) and stuck it around the edges of the speaker adaptors to stop and vibrations (which were minimal anyways).....
As for the sound of your comps, either you have wacked shite loads of distortion through them (ie: wacked up your bass eq) or the connection of the back of them isnt clamped properly - in which case get out your pilers and clamp the terminals more

good stuff m8, glad u like it.
u find the amps running it nice, told ya its good to have the extrta power in reserve, keeps the amp from straining and improves the sound no end.

no no no no lol i was talking about the electrical connection! the little electrical connection adapter is what i meant. Which i snipped off yesterday and just fixed them properly, and now they're fine

Can I ask what music you listen to? The reason I ask is that if you listen to a lot of rock/club/dance music then (as a generalisation) 5" components would be better, thus saving you a further £10 on the same comps Andy recommended.

I would also like to add that (although never having used the autoleads adaptors - I make my own from MDF) even if they were held in with a bit of blue tack and sticky tape, your mounting point would not make your speaker crackle. It is however, advisable to have as solid a mounting point as possible. Best way to do this IMO is to screw/bolt your adaptor to the door and then soundproof over the top of it.
