different maybe - but like sooo many peple wil say, for the same money / time & effort and a lil more patience for extra power, you could easily fit a 2.0 16v and maybe throttle bodies for a little more cash than that - like the way your being different to many other cars - but it still will be a 1.4 at the end of the day, and i'd be amazed if you could get 190bhp out of it............... so prove me wrong
go for it though, if thats what you really wanna do and then see what happens

yeh valver and other parts will cost more than £750 - but you said you were gonna take it to 12psi..... which will cost £££'s more than a valver conversion

Maybe 750 is a good price, but its comparable.
12 psi is not only lots of work, its also the limit of tune.

12psi would probably more than likely break the engine to bits if run for any amount of time - would it not??

mmm,
nova gsi i so nearly bought had 8 psi boost on hyrbid turbo, used courtenay 5th injector to trick the ecu like im sure yours will as well and 2 head gaskets to lower compression ratio
i would give the engine 5k miles maximum before it goes pop
the nova has blown up 3 times in 1 year!!

Yes. You're going to lower compression, up the fuelling, even run a custom ECU too I suppose?

you are expecting from what 82bhp at most to 140bhp on 6psi??? very optimistic figures on an engine that isnt designed for forced induction. I will put a large amount of money that your car will be off the road at least half of the time and it will cost you so much more in the long run than a 2.0
if you want my advice, sell your car and get another one with a 2.0 already in it

no offence m8 but it sounds totally pointless to fit a turbo to a 1.4 8v - if you wanna be different gor for a 1.6 - i know there as common as muck, but fit throttle bodies, uprate fuckin everything (can't you tell i know shit about engine internals lol) and then have that, so therefore you have a 1.6 with a least a half decent amount of power, and there as tuneable as anything when someone will insure me, it's either a 1.6 tuned to death or a 2.0 tb's - but there's no way i'd even do anything to a 1.4 8v - but it's your money, end of the day you will do it if you want 2

cant see you getting that much power out of it
and to double the PSI it will cost more money.

Yes, and if it gets to 160mph it may spontaneously burst into flames

Also... Your buying a turbo kit for £750!
This isn't Need for speed underground. How much are you going to pay someone to fit it and get it working??? surely going to equal more than £1000!
But go for it though dude, then you can drive down the motorway and this time as you hit 100 your bonnet won't fly up, it'll just have smoke coming out of it instead
