Im going to change my fuel filter on sat (3cm fancy bringing yours over we can depruzzurise each others fuel systems ) any way im going to also help change my mates 306 td fuel filter, can anyone give me a guide on how to do it for his???

its easy just slowly unbolt the black canister in the engine bay( thats where it is ) but have a load of rags aroung it for what flows out then change it its piss easy

ffs i dont like the sound of depressurising the fuel system on a 306 TD can anyone confirm this or tell me how to do it???

but you will depressurise the system when you unscrew the canister anyway, it just likely to be cleaner if you do it somewhere else

depressure = slowly disconnect any part of the fuel system o relieve the head of pressure. will help if the car hasnt been drivin for a couple hours or more

turn the bleed valve at the bottom of the fuel filter housing, have a container to catch the fuel in, there should be a little pipe coming off of the valve making it easier 4 u! put a rag underneath it 2 catch any excess fuel.

then simply undo the bolts on top and replace the filter making sure the rubber sealer off the old filter comes out completely, then simply bolt it back up! and prime the system using the manual pump in the engine bay! it's shaped like a golf ball on the lrft hand side. and then all thats left 2 do is bleed the housing (same as beging) til a constant tricle of fuel comes out to get ride of the air out of the system.

oh yeah dont put the old fuel filter back on, bcoz it wont seal coprrectly. just put a new one in.

no just pump the fuel pump manually til a stream of fuel comes out and then just tighten the bleed valve up! start the engine after u've got the air out and it's all fitted!

and can you ask him where the filter is in the engine bay?

in the pic i've attached :-
1) is the fuel filter housing
2) is the bleed valve with the little pipe coming from it!
3) is the manual fuel pump(jus squeeze it 2 pump!
