and i keep hearing stuff saying ai will need to plug my headunit straight to my battery if i amp them from my headunit as a replacement for my front ones but without an amp.

not really, i had the SXS 1757, larger ones and the mid driver is poor, but they do go straight in with normal adaptors.
If u do get a set get the 1757 ones , trust me u need it if u want any bass from them and they still fit straight in.

I've got the larger SXS 1757 speakers, I agree with AdiSRI that they are alittle weak on the bass side but they a 100% improvement on the standard paper speakers

will they give any mid/treble though or have i got it wrong as i was going to get a sub and amp for the boot for the bass

there lacking in mid bass so you wont get great integration between sub/comps, but they do fit easily and are not bad.

is it mid bass you need to link treble and bass then  as i dont know much about ICE.

u need the mid else the sub just sounds like a sub sat in a box, with some music playing aswell, not like one integrated song.
It makes quite a difference

decent comps with a nice fitting job and plenty of dynamat..
any speaker that fits in the door without custom builds has a fairly small magnet and wont be ideal, focal polykevlar 165 slims are not bad tho, as are a few others.

did you say you can fit 6.5" components in with the corsaadaptors or can you only fit the 5.25" components

6.5" go fine with the 6.5" adaptors, they do 2 adaptors for corsa.
The alpines are ok for the money tbh if u want cheap ones go for them

the alpines just use the cheaper option of having the crossover in the wiring.
The crossover splits the frequencies between the tweeter and the mid, it doesnt cut frequencies at all...
The alpines are ok on a budget, i dont know if the ones u show there will fit or not.

Save money and get decent comps. If you buy the cheap ones you'll just end up upgrading as your not happy. Maybe look at second hand stuff.

thats what i thought aswell as i am going to get a sub but people keep saying it will drown out the music and i need something to improve mid/treble which is what i thought components were for

dont fit in the door and have alpines trademark harsh as hell at high volume tweeter, not to my taste.
Focal Access are a bargain at the money they cost IMO.

Yeah I know this, but front components must still give out some bass otherwise they'd sound like tin cans
exactly, wtf of course components make bass, just not normally low rumble stuff, but i have heard components that can have very impressive levels of bass being generated by them...
u need audible bass from the comps to compliment the sub bass made by the sub else it will sound horrible and you wont have any integration at all.
