My car got broken into.
First night back at UNI and in the morning go to find the back windscreen broken.
Had an alarm fitted, and to my knowledge was OK.
I suppose it didnt go off.
Anyway had my suitcase stolen from the boot, had no ice yet!
Went down to the local car shop and got my self a CAT 1 Toad, excellent.
Told me the other was a shoddy job and was'nt fitted properly! It was'nt working at all!!!!!
Got my self some ICE now and will be having Dual Sensors fitted soon so if people hang about the car too long - BOOOOOOM
Anway i just thought it was very sad as the geezer/s had no idea what was in the boot. Just took the chance of finding something - the low lifes!!!!!
My ADVICE TO ALL IS - GET A DECENT ALARM. WILL HELP WITH THE TROUBLE NOT HAVING ONE CAUSES.
AND DON'T GO ON THE CHEAP, RATHER HAVE ONE THAT WORKS THAN ONE THAT DOES'NT. DUAL SENSORS ARE A GUD IDEA IF YOU GOT EXTRA £100 TO SPEND.
Anyone else got tips on securing your car - post here - lets make it hard for the bastards!

Not to be arrogant but its the first mod i did to my car and would do to any other cars i buy!

1stlt, maybe ur alarm did go off, as these days noone gives a shite about alarms going off, look, and walk by.

Leave nothing on show whatsoever, leave the globeox empty and open, dont give them an excuse.

Looking at MAX P, latest its been quoted that some geeza got the new Clifford Viper bought and installed for £325... UUumm how the feck is that possible coz with the features of the alarm I would've thought it was more than £325 just to buy

if it was cat 1 you should get some money for that! they guarantee it.
ALWAYS get a good alarm, them microscan things are shite, also heard bad about autowatch save yourselves the hassle and get a good alarm.
My clifford goes off if the wind blows, maybe annoying but when someone goes near the car it gives them 3 chances then goes off!

What sort of features would you look for when buying an alarm? I havent got one at the moment but Im seriously thinking about getting one as keep hearing about peoples cars getting broken into
Would be looking for one that also gave a saving on my insurance if possible.
Ive seen the adverts for GAP security and the like but I dont understand what half of the features are and what they do?

get a toad Ai606.
i got a clifford, concept 600, with all the works, with remote key fob start, auto shut windows, but id rather have a standard Toad ai606.
Cliffords are not reliable when it comes to every day to day use, if it rains, i gotta disable the alarm and put it in valet mode, all cliffords hate getting wet.
Ive had two clifford alarms and one toad Ai606, trust me.

Barteh sounds liek yours was fitted badly,
at the end of the day its the fitter, i would go to a place with a good reccomendation in future mate.
I have no problems with my clifford at all, and i have the proximity sensor quite sensitive.
Any cat 1 from clifford/toad promises to be good!

I did just that, i have had both cliffords fitted by 2 clifford approved contractors, and both alarms had the same problem.
Its a very well known problem.

How does this work because surely that would mean if you were in a supermarket car park and there for a while and someone parked next to you and went in to the supermarket for a wahile aswell it would go off?
