Looking at getting a 306 1.9 turbo diesel and was wondering what small things i could do to the engine over the next few years as my no claims builds up?
I realise it's a diesel so I'm guessing it's not going to be easy to tune but what about cams, dump valve, panel filter/induction kit etc.

Cheers

Also any ideas on how to just tidy up an engine bay and not neccesarily increase performance like alloy tanks, coloured hoses etc.

Didn't think you could get a dump valve that loud on a diesel. Do you think i will have anyperformance gain though ( I realise diesels arent built for performance before anyone starts)

Actually these days, Diesels are coming along nicely, I know I wouldn't change to petrol.. There are a few 306d turobs in my town screwed to the balls, and I know very few cars that can keep up with it, even a 2L red top corsa gets a good run!

A Dump valve ona diesel doesn't give a gain, as theres no throttle plate to cause compressor stall as on cars. just for chavtastic sound.

i can tell you exactly how to do it, but at work at the mo, so aint got time to write it all down, ya do really want a boost guage and oil pressure guage really, i aint got a boost guage yet but by turning the acutor 1.5 turns it should be about 16psi, gonna get one soon as after 16psi ya power drops due to heat so a front mounted intercooler is needed, only problem with tuning diesels is the smoke, they will chuck black smoke out the back but ya live with it
