Opinions? My dad just says flat no, but the car looks ok and is far cheaper.
Worried about the re-sale though.

I know, its just the perfect car.
Cat D is a write off due to cosmetic damage, so i wouldn't have thought i'd get that many problems.
Cat C = fcked = fair enough.
What about insurance, would i need to declare it to them?
cheers

dont pay 13k for a wrote off car mate!
if it had been a cheapy corsa or something and had its value in mods then yeh fair enough as you can sell them or swop them onto a diff car
but 13k! listen to your dad

Agreed I personally wouldnt buy one fulls top unless like Ben says it has its value in mods or something and you plan on running it into the ground but for £13k don't

the reason being that the person wont of paid no where near that to buy it back from insurance
its something like 30% of the repair cost that u pay to buy back from insurance i know that for a fact

my saxo was a cat d. didnt affect insurance at all. and as u all know, when u come to sell it ull loose out
but all depends what ur doing with the car, if ur keeping it for a good few years it may be worth it, but if its jst for a run around for a year or so i wudnt advise it.

Seen a bargain on Ebay , but once again theres a problem.
Accident damaged, repaired but not logged on the V car.
Slower than i wanted but would do for now, and sell on for a little profit if the repair work isn't visible.
Hmmmmmmmm

You dont have to vic check all damges repairables only some and only usually cat c's. vic is nothing anyway.
I would buy a cat d or c vehicle so long as it was the right price for the car and i could see it before the repair!
