Not trying to be a cock but if thats all it takes to repair why are you not doing it yourself and why was it written off in the first place?

Have you had an engineers report done?

yeah its classed as a write off coz the garage they sent it to charges £40/hour and the put double the price on the parts, just get someone local and you make a saving

so u buy it for 2200, put at least 2.5k on it. so thats 4700, then account for parts which are broke that u arnt aware of at the moment. surely u can buy a Y reg seat for cheaper than that

I thought it was only a write off if the cost to fix it was more than the cars worth, so if its only going to cost 2.5 to fix it then thats all the insurance company thinks its worth

Not trying to be funny but wish people would find out facts before posting. Its classed as an insurance write off if its going to cost something like 35% (Not exactly sure) of the cars value to get fixed then they would prefer to pay you the money than give the garage that sort of money to fix. Also make me an offer i can say yes or no. Also posted incase someone had a polo gti or something as the engine goes in no probs same with the seats etc. Thats my moan for today so please post if your INTERESTED or have questions etc Thanks

Coz the money has been taken off my final settlement and i have bought another car and havnt got time to get it fixed as i was going to be using my sisters car until i got this fixed, but she has just bought a bmw and she isnt allowed anyone under 21 on her policy, hence why i have to sell.

Also these engines are great for going into golf mk1, mk2, polo gti etc would be ideal for someone looking for a project

i want to sell it as a whole car as its too much hassle for me the now getting engiens out etc. Why not buy the full car take what you need then sell interior panels etc, the back bumpers etc doors things like that are rare 2nd hand parts.
