F20's are disposable. If it breaks, buy a new one for £50... F28's are stupidly expensive for what you get because they are generally really old...

Just about every scrap yard you go to will have at least 5 rusty Cavalier 2.0 8v's... They will all have gearboxes in them that you can use...

Nope, an F16 is what 2.0 astra's use... I think 1.8 Astras use them too.

I'm sure the ration's in F16cr and F20cr are the same
(1st might be slightly l;onger on one)
just the F20 can handle more power

so if the F16 is close ratio it's better for 1/4 miles if it lasts long enough??
tbh i would go with a F20 if you plan to modify the engine in the long term otherwise your going to buy an F16 modify the engine blow up the F16 then need a F20 waste of money if you ask me

duh..... the F20 above is CR
F20cr, F16c - both close ratio boxes with near identical gearing. I'd always go for the F20

do the numbers relate to the amount of power they can handle?
ie. f16 - 160bhp
f20 - 200bhp
