Hey all,
If anyone knows what is the problem please let me know coz its doing my head in!
My year 2000 corsa 1.2 16v engine managment light started comming on then going off today for some reason, it seems to come on more when i was going slow (like when pulling away or slowing down at junctions) when the light is on the car judders asif it wants to stall and when the light goes off it goes back normal again.
I noticed some times when ive been travelling at high speed for a long time 'for examply on a motorway' then approach a roundabout (stop) then go to pull away the car has no power asif somethin is holding it back, then suddely the power will kick in and it will drive normally again.
Its really wierd and i cannot think what could be causing this, it only comes on for a few seconds when it does and then goes off again.
If anyone knows what it could be please please help, done wanna spend £25 + vat to get a teh2 diagnostics at vauxhall, its a rip off.
thanks !

Stick a paperclip to bridge two pins in fusebox in order to display a code that will tell u the fault. Out cars are too new apparently tho

haha, thats one way to save money !
as they say ''a penny saved is better than a penny earned'' (coz a penny earned you have to pay 17.5% t.a.x on) lol

I had the same sorta problem. Would come on when doing a steady 30mph then would go off but running fine. Then after a few months it came on and started to judder. Would turn it off then was ok! Turned out to be the oxygen sensor. Been fine ever since! Cost me £25 by my local garage to buy and fit!
Hope it helps

could be the idle air control valve.
cost me £120 for the the diagnostic and the replacement at my local vauxhall dealer.

could be Air Flow Meter, on my 1ltr when I had the symptoms you described it turned out to be the AFM, was annoying but sorted it completely. Failing that then the Idle Control Valve. Hope this helps

thanks for all the help peeps, i tried taking my induction kit/ air filter off today and covered the end of the pipe with a pair of tights so see if it was a blocked filter, then took it out for about 8 mile drive and light didnt come on once then when i got home and was just about to go onto the driveway the light came on !!! typical !
sound to me that bubblevaux could be right, because its only when I slow down/take my foot off the accelerator that it seems to do it, would this also explain why when i stop at a roundabout/junction then pull away there is a lack of power then it suddely kicks in ?

does anyoneknow if these draper diagnostic tools work on 1999 - 2000 corsas ? or do they just do the same as the paperclip test ? (paperclip test does not work on 1999 > corsas)
just you can buy the draper diagnostic tools on ebay for £12.99 so id rather do that than spend £25 at vaux !
