Here is my engine bay at the mo, want to make it look better, gonna start by cleaning it as much as possible but what parts would look good under there, where can i get them and how much

clean,

chrome the cam cover, rocker cover,

buy stainless manifold cover, buy hoses, relocate battery, hide wiring...

exhaust heat shield- 30-40
polished rocker cover/powder coated- 40+
polished plug cover or carbon
hose kits

courtney spot and ebay etc best placed to look

heatshield £10
stainless rocker bolts £10
Hose set ( try turbo chris on migweb he has a few sets left)
hide wiring
header tank in scuttle panel
battery in boot..
polish gearbox
polished rocker and cam cover
get another loomand run wires through bulhead

chrome heat shield
powder coated rocker cover (not from JR)
chrome spark plug cover
AFM chrome cover
chrome dizzy and coil holder
clean new header tank (poss chrome one)
chrome rocker bolts

and that should be nice not too much over kill with chrome

That would be a pain in the arse tho surely, wouldn't wanna start takin my interior out and the spare wheel has been welded over

you may have pobs makin it look completely tidy as i belive Matts old car had PAS and ABS but you could do the little things that make a big difference lik rocker, head shield etc etc

Yeh it has, someone has drilled the PAS cap aswell and its squirted all over the engine bay!!

I think the car also has aircon but dont know if that would still be in there

the air con is not in there as it had a speical manifold when it was a tune 1.4 16v and the manifold was too big to fit with the aircon in there so it was removed.

Yeh i know, just looked at the courtenay spark plug cover and heat sheild and its about £140

I did my manifold cover myself (above) just used some wire wool, then a mouse sander and velcro type paper with some autosol, took couple of hours and its come up a treat. Spec r version is £160 or something silly

Buy some PEEK

I just keep removing a bit of my engine bay & then give it some PEEK/elbow grease. Slowly starting to look better

Its ok for anything metal but not chrome as the peek/autosol/autoglym all have fine gritt in it to cut the metal to make it shiney. It will just result in things going dull quciker...
