been really thinking my corsa is quick now i have the xe fitted and running.
when driving about ive noticed its quite sluggish when pulling away, but when its going it seems fast.
just thought this was normal.
after speaking to a few guys wiv xe corsa on here, they tell me xe corsas go like fuck when accelerating..
left me thinking last couple of days if its not right.
rembered that when i fitted the new cambelt kit, the timing mark was slightly bent, so i thought i would just check it again and make sure im not a tooth out.
just pulled the cam cover off, only to find that the timing is out by a good 4-6 teeth.
i dont think its done any damage as its running ok, and not missing or anything.
ive not got the great task of setting the timing again
God damn!!

4-6 teeth? surely not? would it even run?
it would actualy take hard work to do that
anyways.. belt off.. realign the various pulleys... belt back on.. sorted

i would have though if the valves were touching the pistons it would very noticable... both in noise and engine performance? i wouldnt bother with the what ifs at the moment.... just retime it...
new set of valve would be 100ish probabyl more... but a load or arse having to rebuild the head...

taking the head of aint no big deal, ive rebuilt it once already lol...
just the money im not looking foreward to.
i dont know much about timing being out on a car, but i know on trucks, which i work on btw, if its a tooth out on the timing it wont run hardly at all.
im quite worried its gonna cost me the earth to repair now :S

i dont have no tools here, so ive turned the cams...
i lined the 2 cams up perfectly and then the crank was out.
