For some strange reason ive been thinking about maybe getting 18s!

I love the look of my car so low and when i putt he 17s on i hated it!

But im really starting to get pissed off with hitting every hump and bump in the road and anything but grit!

i know 18s sound big but if im gonna up size then i kinda think why not go big and then i will maybe like that and not be to worried about how high the car will sit!

But my biggest worry is rubbng and fitting them with the coilovers!

Honest thoughts people

erm..... no????

anyways, the rear arches need trimming back and possibly rolling out, same on the front..

getting 18's in et49 would be a very good start

ive done a fair bit of arch work already like trimming metal and plastic and pulling here and there!

but i know its gonna possibly ruin the car!

but you really need to try and live with the car and its lowness to find out how bloody annoying it really can be sometimes!

i have thought of air bags not hydros as they are a very harsh ride ive heard!

the biggest problem with air bags is i aint got nowhere to put the pump and all that!

plus its expensive and its gonna handle like poo, i know it aint gonna handle great on 18s but im guessing it would be better!

theres so many peoples houses and work places and cruise sites etc i cant go to as i cant get in them!

im guessing that ET49 is seriously gonna fook with the coilovers on the front!

as im ET 45 at the mo on a 7inch rim and 195 tyre and they are tight to say the least!

as id be running another 4mm closer and 215 tyres i reackon i would actually need spacers!

i kind of see where hes coming from here and like he said you need to try things to see if they work, with the so many wheels choices in 18's sam, you would be able to find some really nice wheels which if you can still keep car sitting as low as possible i think it could very well pull it off.

i think you should go for it

it is true that if i go bigger the amount of choice i have is silly really compared to the very few designs i have to choose from at the mo!

can you get any other tyres thinner than 215s?

if you get 18's sam all depends on width of rim but cant you get 35 profile tyres also and if you get thinner than 215's say stretch some 205s over then they will be tiny on the rims.

just looked and it dont look like you can get anything thinner than a 215 tyre!

ive just noticed though that they do do a 195/40/17!

now this could be better! as when i did the 17s i did 205s and that made me rub like a bitch, maybe the 195s could mean i could keep it low!

anyone using 195/40/17s?
