Well it all happened on wednesday when I went to Edinburgh to get my private plate transfered onto ma car and the girl noticed that ma petrol light was on, I didnt even notice it and had no clue how long it was on for so I drove for about another 10-15 miles and eventually found a petrol station by this time the car was coughing and spluttering a bit so I thought thank fuk I got to the station on time, I filled the car up and noticed right away it was running sh!t I thought it was just a bit of dirty petrol but its gotten so bad that is lost $hit loads of power and the garage is having problems finding out whats wrong with it, I think its brought up all the crap from the bottom of the tank and badly clogged all the fuel lines and injectors, I'm totally gutted especially as the cars been driving like a dream for the past few months

Any ideas what the problem might be???

It actually fixed itself tonight and ran spot on but as soon as I turned the engine off and re-started it it went tits up again

Its a bad thing mate, all petrol has dirt in it and through time it sits on the bottom of the tank and if it gets to low the fuel pump will suck it through the fuel lines and clog up everything like the injectors/carbs and give poor preformance

Running Optimax or super unleaded for a while will help cleanse the fuel injectors etc. as they have better cleaning agents in the petrol than the cheapo stuff.

Probably won't make any difference but you could also try spraying carb cleaner into the throttle body? I had a similar problem once and that helped to clear the problem - not sure really how but it did?

Does the Tech2 give information about flow rates and stuff on injectors? Or do they have to be removed and taken to a fuel injector specialist for that kind of info?
