Brought meaning it has come from somewhere and arrived in his possession, so the item was brought to him by the girl, however she bought it from a shop for the boy.
they are two totally different words! Is that correct or am I mad?

bought

I brought my mates along with me.

The act of bringing something to somewhere is to have brought it.

The act of buying something is to have bought it.

Buying and bringing are similar but not the same, and the two words are not interchangeable.

Same with Pacific and specific. Just wrong.
