If it was one or the other definately performance but ideally somewhere in the middle? After all you got to enjoy driving no point having a bumper scrappiung car you cant take nowhere is there?
This also brings up the age old argument about people cant aford the insurance so do looks...but they miss the fact after spedning all that money on the looks they could of just insured a decent performance car IMO.

Performance - because I'm not a big black Pimpin Gansta.
Seriously though, it's good to have a car that looks alright - but these days people feel a 'good' looking car, is something that is original and imo most of the original cars are hideous, i.e. 21" rims on a Corsa with 10 12" exhausts and big flashing neons and hideous wing and kit etc etc...
As fad said though, insurance is a bitch - hence so many 1.2 8v's kitted. People want to modify but can't afford to insure something quick / performance mods.

Performance in a car that also looks as good as it goes. But if I had £1500 to spend and it was a choice between an XE or bodykit the XE would win everytime.

Performance would be good, but im on my last lives on my points, so i dont wanna get influenced with performance mods and get done again.
So im goin for the Looks!! and besides, i havent got that much £££ for performance or insurance.

i like performance modifications, thats why im in love with jdm civic beacuse of all the carbon fibre bits and bobs and the subtleness of the look.

you can go so far with both i think..
looks doesn't mean outrageous bodykits or that, can be sweet and subtle with a fast engine

Looks for me at the moment because of my Age. My 1.2 8v isn't amazingly fast.
