as you can see a wee bit rusty..
was going to attempt this myself ...will be with cans, under bonnet shouldn't be bad...
does bumper need to come off to get grill out? I have a new gsi grill to go on..
steps to take..
mask surrounding area.
rub down
primer
spray
laquer..
would like tips etc....
also aquiring parts to get sprayed and fitted, standard parts....
going to get them and then put them all in to get sprayed at once, not by me...
got new gsi grill (not for spraying )
bought side skirt L shape part for drivers side as mine cracked..
getting a set of mirrors as mine are in poor condition..Just going to get them sprayed and swapped over..
need to get bonnet....should be easy enough..knew of a few.
get front bumper resprayed when bonnet gets done..
want a gsi rear bumper as a few bad parts on mine....
I would prefer to get all the parts, get them all sprayed then swap them over,...
should be busy...

I've got the same problem and thinking of doing this myself too.
The steps you put there would be the same as what i would do.
Just make sure you mask well and expect the colour to be a wee bit brighter.

cheers m8...yeah I know it will be slightly off as with cans always is, but thought it wouldn't be that noticeable under bonnet...All other parts i'll get sprayed by a pro..
what about grill, to me looks like bumper has to come off to fit it

best to do it when its raining really.
if you get it sanded well, will be ok, otherwise paint can flake off. had this bother on my old nova few years ago

It's not that hard. I got a mint finish to my wing that i sprayed with cans (except i used pearlescent paint ). The rubbing down with wet grit after applying paint is the most important part imo.
Deffo worth a go yourself.

changing slam panel isnt light work, but relatively easy, although u need to be able to weld, take the front wings off, and front bumper, headlights, and poss radiator as it will give u loads of room, then sand off etc etc

Yep, drill it off, then rivet it on, you got to take it off because 9 times out of 10 there is rust under it
